V2.2 Operations Pilot Management Team

 

The Green Guide’s Construction and Operations toolkits were developed through the generous contributions of time and resources of our volunteer steering committee and working group members.

The Green Guide’s v2.2 Operations section was released in December 2008 after significant revision. To continue the Green Guide’s practice of engaging the broad community of stakeholders to provide feedback to the Green Guide’s best practices toolkits, we are launching the v2.2 Operations Pilot in 2010, in partnership with Practice Greenhealth.

Kumkum M. Dilwali, MS, LEED-AP. As Senior Director, Kumkum M. Dilwali implements all Green Guide projects, e.g., 2010 Operations Pilot, v3 toolkit development, webinars, and more. For two years, she led the green design and construction aspects for the Shapiro Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA), a Green Guide construction pilot, now LEED™-Silver. As Director of Safety at Emerson Hospital (Concord, MA), she launched their first green operations program and maintained Joint Commission compliance. As Senior Scientist at EH&E (Newton, MA), she managed complex projects in the building sciences, including technical evaluations of engineered environments. At Harvard University, she coordinated a steering committee for campus-wide sustainability. A chemical engineer (MIT, 1981) with environmental management (Harvard School of Public Health, 1995), she is widely published, and an accomplished vocalist.

Janet Brown, Director, Facility Engagement for Practice Greenhealth (PGH), was on the Steering Committee of the Green Guide for Health Care and co-chaired the v2.2 Operations Revision Committee. She works with hundreds of PGH member hospitals on moving further down the sustainability path, leads the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards, participates in the CleanMed Planning Committee and is a frequent speaker at conferences and at health care greening events. Janet coordinated health care environmental management programs for Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City from 1991–2004. Janet lives in Amherst, MA with her husband and two children. Interests include coaching her daughter’s soccer team and gardening.

Lorissa MacAllister, AIA, LEED® AP, is Healthcare Practice Leader at Progressive AE. Her expertise in healthcare master planning, designing, programming, and sustainable healthcare design has been applied to projects ranging from small remodels to thirty million dollar new acute care facilities. She and Progressive AE’s health care practice approach the design and programming of a facility through process-based planning. Lorissa is working locally on developing quality measures in physician practices with the Alliance for Health with the support of a Robert Wood Johnson foundation grant. She was on the Green Guide for Health CareSteering Committee and co-chaired the Green Guide's Operations Revision Committee. In 2007, Lorissa was recognized as one of Forty Under 40 Business Leaders in West Michigan.
